I never intended to start a self-improvement blog — no, really. I just wanted to keep up with friends and let my parents know what was going on without calling them every day.
In the fall of 2010, however, the blog began to evolve into a series of personal improvement challenges. At first, the challenges are structured to fit within a week (thus, “Seven Day Challenges”), and could range from a simple challenge (such as taking a picture every day), to something fun (learning the “Thriller” routine in a week), to a good lifestyle habit to develop (bringing a healthy lunch to school or exercising regularly). They are not meant to be mind-blowing challenges which defy human nature — they are simple, everyday challenges which can improve my lifestyle and which are, in a word, manageable.
As the challenges have evolved, it has turned into a month-by-month reassessment of things I wish to accomplish. Through these challenges, I am spending less money, reading more, and learning dance routines. I’m sure these challenges will continue to evolve, but the main idea is clear: I am a person dedicated to living a full and interesting life, and I am constantly striving to be the best person I can be.
